Dear Sirs,

We have a situation where a contractor has had to remove all the ENT in a ceiling after he found the building is using the above ceiling area for the HVAC plenum. They choose to replace all the ENT (rather than to buy the expensive "plentum" rated ENT)in the ceiling area with EMT and leave the ENT in the walls making the transition from one to other with connectors and or junction boxes. Question, is there a requirement to have the holes in the top plate sealed where the EMT passes through, whether it is plentum rated ceiling or not.

Thanks, Wayne
