A hospital I am working for would like utilize an existing feeder for an upgraded elevator. Aside from concerns for the age of the conductors, insulation integrity etc, I have learned that there is no ground conductor. I.e. they use the RGS conduit to that end. I wouldn’t dream of running such a feeder without a ground yet I know it can be done. Can it be done in a hospital? Strictly speaking if the ampacity and integrity of the cable is acceptable, may I reuse this feeders for the new elevator?

Thanks,

Mike

Unless I was adding new switch gear and OCPD'S along with this upgrade. Thanks most I would do is add bonding bushings to the conduit and verify the integrity of the terminations.
