hi there, I’m not very familiar with types of contractors. I’m trying to figure out if I need a DP or a Lighting Contactor ln order to control power to a low voltage landscape lighting transformer.
attached is a picture of the spec plate.

There is no legal field use for DP contactors other than as direct replacement of exact units in listed factory assemblies. That doesn’t stop a lot of people from using them in the field because they are cheap, but technically it is a code violation. 110.3, suitable for the intended use. The intended use of DP contactors involves being engineered into a factory assembly that will be listed by an NRTL. If you look, all DP contactors are UL Recognized components (backward UR symbol), which is not the same as being UL listed. UR means it MUST be part of something else that itself will be listed.
