I am installing a 240V system which will operate 4 small exhaust fans each pulling around 1 amp. One 14 AWG phase of the 240V will travel 60 ft. in 1/2" EMT to a mechanical thermostat and will return in the same conduit. A insulated bonding wire will also be in the conduit. Since the phase conductor runs in both directions there shouldn't be any magnetic conduit heating right?

correct. Think of it this way, if you were to clamp an ammeter around all the conductors in the raceway, if you have a situation that would give a reading on the meter then you have a situation that would induce a magnetic field on any metal enclosing those same conductors.
