I have an application with a Class II, Division 1 (I.S.) Monitor in an X-Purged Enclosure. Can I use a regular USB mouse in the Hazardous Location and still conform to code?

Thanks!

I'm going to concur with Bob's original proposal. Putting the mouse in a purged box would pretty much render it unavailable for practical use.

There are both NI and/or IS, I/O USB (and other) interfaces available for "standard" computers.

It is important to emphasize that proper housekeeping is actually a major component of determining Class II classifications, especially Group G. It isn't too difficult to render the location around the mouse, unclassified altogether.

May I know which brand/ model of the monitor you are using for Class 2 Div 1, carbon dust. I am looking for an HMI in this area. Thanks
