CID2 device in CIID2 HazLoc

I have been asked to supply a specific tablet PC as part of a controls project that will be installed in a Class II Div 2 location. However, the tablet is rated Class I Div 2 only. I am pretty sure that this would not fly, but I have not found positive proof in Article 500 or 502. Where should I be looking for an answer? Or is this a fight I should just not bother with?

See Section 502.5; however, depending on the rated surface temperature, (T-rating) the tablet is probably acceptable in Class II as well.
