Does the NFPA dictate what type of facilities or occupancies require central station monitoring for instaklled fire alarm systems, or is it in some other code?

Sometimes the building code will specify monitoring, the IBC for example. Other times NFPA13 for sprinklers and NFPA72 for fire alarm systems is the reference.
