Probably a good idea. most times duct heaters have it built in IME.Is there a low static pressure threshold where you would lockout elec heat because not enough air flow?with a VFD running on the air handler.

If you buy a "packaged unit with the fan and heater built in they will sometimes have no protection against loss of air flow. I always thought this was foolish.
To my mind it should have a good differential air proving switch and /or a ct on the motor power to disable the heat when the motor shuts down.
Otherwise, plugged filters or a bad motor ,,,,,,,and then you buying new heater elements
