Bonding conductor

During a service change today, I installed a 16x16 j-box for the purpose of splicing and extending the branch circuits on to the new service panel. In this j-box all grounds are connected together using a grounding bar.

If the water pipe bonding conductor passes through this enclosure, is it subject to 250.148, (all grounds must tie together)?

If the water pipe bonding conductor did land on the grounding bar in the j-box and continue on to the water pipe system, would it matter?

Re: Bonding conductor

Ryan
The water pipe bonding conductor I am speaking of is not a grounding electrode conductor. The grounding electrode conductor is run seperatly to ground rods and does not go through the enclosure.
Thanks Buck

Re: Bonding conductor

250.148 applies only EGC's, but you will still have to somehow bond the box to an effective ground fault current path in accordance with 250.4(A)(3).

You can terminate the bonding jumper in the box then take it to the water pipe if you would like, but it is not required.
