As in torque speed curves and for purposes of applying 110.14(C)(4) so that 75 degree wire can be used.

No, that's not referring to the torque speed curves, that specifically says "code letters B, C or D". That is referring to the kVA/HP code letters in NEMA MG-1. Basically, B,C and D are motors with particularly LOW starting kVA, which are fairly rare.

kVA/HP
B = 3.15-3.55
C = 3.55-4.0
D = 4.0-4.5

Most standard motors we use have Codes F thru L. I have never seen a NEMA Code Letter on a hermetically sealed refer motor, but without one, you cannot make any assumptions. The exception applies to when you KNOW the Code letter is B, C or D.
