bennie, there is point to have a 20amp breaker on #10 wire. For example, If the #10 is only permitted to carry 20 amps because of the ambient heat, or because there are to many wires in the same raceway, then, a 20 amps breaker will limit the current through that wire to 20 amps only.

hassaf: Circuit breakers are not for limiting current.

The only way to limit current is by sizing the load to 20 amps.

Bennie,I did home a few years ago hi scale,the panels were in the garage H.O. wouldn`t allow them to be in rooms or hallways on other side of the home.length from the M.B.R. to the garage was 245 ft.I got with the A.H.J. and he allowed me to use 10/2 for H.R.`S and tagged as 20 amp only in the panel.Voltage drop is voltage drop, # of openings on the circuit has no affect on this.
