513.3 (C) denotes areas 5 ft horizontal from fuel tanks as Class 1, Division2 or zone 2 that shall extend from the floor to 5 ft above the wing. Does this include the whole wing, or only that portion within 5 ft of the tank?
Thanks,

The primary problem here is that this is a "mobile" classified location. Anticipated activities and actual positioning affect the classification.

In general, the entire wing is considered a "tank;" though, literally, the case can be made that, if the location of the tank is well defined, it could be limited to a smaller area.

I am researching out replacing some overhead light fistures - 12- 16 ft above the surface. This is interesting in that it appears the fixtures would be out of the hazardous location and thus not required to meet the 'explosion proof' requirement.

I don't have access to 513.3 (C).

Thanks for any help.
