Adt rx7 sounder

Hi, I dont have ADT but I have an old ADT/HONEYWELL RX7 / RX-7C Indoor Sounder box on my wall but it is hardwired to a wire coming out if the wall. Could this wire be live if I cut it? Suggestions?
