I'm looking for a type W or G multi conductor cable for a pin and sleeve plug and play genny.
Just got the first quote in and it's type G with 4 3/0's and a number 5 ground???

At this link I see there are also #7 and #9 grounds.

Can anyone explain this???

I think it has to do with the fact that the cable you are looking at is 2000 volt cable and 400.31 allows multiple equipment grounding conductors as long as the total area is not less than 250.122 requirements.
Most likely a manufacturing design issue.

That's odd, anytime I buy big Type W cable it's always had fullsized grounds. Maybe I need to start asking for a type with a reduced ground to shave a little weight/money off this heavy stuff!
