I need to power a 120/240 1P, 125 kVA, load that is approximately 1,000' from my 4 kV source. I also need roadway and area lighting between those two points. On the surface it seems like I would be best served by carrying 4 kV overhead to my load to keep my cable size relatively small. The problem I have is I can't find any roadway/area lights that operate at 4 kV. Am I looking for something that doesn't exist? Are there other (simple) options for powering lights along this stretch other than pulling a separate 120/240 V feed?

Thanks in advance.

How many points are we talking along then length that need lights? Every pole? If it's not a lot, a small pole mount transformer wherever lights are needed might be easier and cheaper than running two feeds. Never priced them out though for pole mount MV, so I could be wrong.

Thanks for the help! I figured this was going to be the case. Though I hadn't considered looking through an aviation catalog).

Off hand I'd guess we will need about 10 lights along this run. But I could be off by 50%. I haven't looked at how much area these lights are capable of illuminating, yet.
