I have a cutler hammer three phase non-fused disconnect switch that is being used on a 120VAC circuit to a small motor load. The over current device is at a local 120/208V Panelboard, 20A 1p branch CB. Internally to the switch there is what appears to be a factory installed jumper from the load side of one phase (A) to the line side of another phase (B).
I can’t see why this jumper is required and tempted to simply remove it. Any thoughts?
