"The system" is extremely discriminatory against the undercapitalized (in many ways). One of the ways, guys with enough capital may have a different thought process, I'm not getting out of bed unless I make x. They also learned what it took to get there and retain that knowledge.

Capital also allows you to survive long enough to find out which jobs and customer pay, and which do not (most of them). Being undercapitalized also has a different thought process. You could find yourself taking every job that appears in front of you, and lacking pricing power, this would include the non payers, never letting you escape undercapitalization (very common among startups). "The system" will see you coming and effortlessly take advantage (on autopilot). You cannot "blame" the system. It is always a battle with yourself. Your fight is with yourself.

Wealthy people can afford many of their own mistakes (in business) until learning or happening on the work that they do that pays. There are many stories like this. Early tech pioneers failed many times but their families wealth allowed them to keep trying.

If you want to change the system it has to be done from the inside. Run for office or work for those who do.

The job you have now may be uneconomic because of the travel. Run the numbers on that and then try the numbers on paper with different scenarios. Can you grab a motel during the week (very common for road warriors). Bid with another employer of equal or better prospect.

Again there is no guarantee of demand being there just because you decide to bid for work. And if the demand is there you could find yourself bidding against the guy who trims the shubs, for the wiring job (done that, a surprise to me).

If you think your current job is tough wait until you find out what running a business is like

America has fallen to late capitalism it was built on entrepreneurship.

You might be romanticizing how the United States was built. Much of the growth was due to innovation, resources and the nature of corporate America (capitalism).

People are smart enough to make their own decisions they should have the freedom to fail and the freedom to succeed. Why isnt this same true for all the illegal third worlders gc's hire en masse to frame their buildings, to insulate them, to mud and paint them, to lay brick and block. Have u seen the quality of work produced by licensed contractors?

Overregulation has caused this.

… and seeing the they pass off as work on these big union jobs

This is the problem with late capitalism it is the GATEKEEPING its only purpose is to keep people from having the means to be financially independent and it aims to keep those with the means, above those who have to work for everything they ever had. It is classism and the death of the american dream.

Just so i can wire the house for some trustfund manager who ate steak all his life because he inherited wealth through a classist system that doesnt reward meritocracy but allows people to be wealthy and let that money make them even wealthier just from making a few trade options on the stock exchange. And the mexicans that the GC hired can eat better than me because he commits identity fraud while also drawing welfare and GC can just pay off the next guy. right now im working on a sheriffs station and the officers know they are all illegal and they dont care. None of these crony capitalists care. Why? Because they arent a part of the blue collar work force and they dont give who they abuse to get a better price because they have the money to make the government ignore them.

You mention we need more freedom yet you also mention how capitalism is causing problems by allowing people the “freedom” to be greedy, break the law, produce low quality of work, and take advantage of blue collar workers (undocumented or not). You can’t have it both ways. It sounds like what you are describing is a lack of regulation (or lack of enforcement) and not overregulation.

No we have the regulation we need regulatory laws but they need to be ENFORCED the corruption in the system is what forces blue collar workers into a position where they are like second class citizens and unfortunately the political side of ibew stands in complete contradiction on itself and doesnt fight this battle against these workers.

Deregulation can be good in some areas bad in others im of two minds about laws that say something good but have the opposite effect. Unfortunately our country allows foreign invaders to come in, subvert our culture, take our jobs, and undercut blue collar wages and its a monkeywrench in the system that simply shouldnt exist.

Late capitalism is the fallout from lobbyists and special interest groups and propaganda campaigns on the us people. You have Czars of many different goods and services and u have the federal reserve and the ponzi scheme that is the stock market, and ssi. You also have welfare now which should not exist be abused as it is.
