We are designing electrical enclosure for Class I Div. 1 location. Enclosure will be purged enclosure. We need to mount digital process meters on the door of enclosure. Whole body of the meter with electrical connection will be inside of purged enclosure. However face of the meter will be outside of enclosure on the door. Digital LED/LCD display should not heat up very much. But panel meter manufacturers do not provide information on how hot display surface may become. So far we are not able to find any panel meters rated for Class I Div. 1., only field mounted devices in explosion proof boxes.

Does anyone have recommendations?

Thank you,

PaulBr.

I'd be inclined to put the display inside the enclosure with a window kit in the door of the enclosure for viewing.

That is what end up doing. Installing window kit on the door and placing meters inside of enclosure.
Thank you for the help.
