Yes, the OP was about solid or stranded GEC. Jaggedben threw in that solid #6 couldn't be used in conduit. I was just pointing out that it could for a GEC.

Where did the OP state it was about a GEC? I don't think it said that. I read it as being about bonding solar arrays.

Actually you are correct in that the OP didn't say GEC. It was the 3rd post that led to that and that's where I started reading with interest. I assumed (wrongly) that the question was just about stranded vs solid GEC.

The OP used the term "for grounding" so it's really a guess as to what was implied. It could mean a GEC or bonding jumper or something else for that matter.
