Are you buying your LED light fixtures locally or online? When I price them from the supply house they are twice as much as prices I get online. I get LED catalogs every week and would like to lower my cost so I can get some of these metal halide to LED jobs. I'm looking for 90 watt - 8000 lumen LED wall packs and some LED spot sign lighters to replace the 500 watt Quartz that are there now.

I've been using them since 2012 and have purchased probably over 800 fixtures from wall packs to troffers to floods. I've had some issues but they stand behind their products 110%. Any failures and replaced without question and free shipping for both the replacement and the return.
I do not use them for lot lights... For that I'm sold on BetaLED. Same company though from what I know.

I've used them a lot as well. Haven't used a lot of their LED's yet, but a lot of HID's in the past and little troubles with them. Biggest problem with HID's often was they used cheap lamps that didn't last long, put in a name brand lamp after the first one fails and they last a long time.

You might get a better deal from local supply house if you have a big enough order - E-conolight is same price whether you buy one or one hundred - most items. (free shipping over $500 IIRC).

You want it now? Seems like supply houses never have anything in stock anyway so you may still have to wait a day or two with them.

I've often had good luck calling E-conolight with larger orders. Purchased 80 troffers last year and they knocked $20 off each. Watch their site also... Often have 10% discounts and just saw a 15% last month for Halloween.

Haven't ever called in an order, but never ordered that many fixtures either - doesn't hurt to ask, but on line ordering doesn't directly give you that human intervention option either. I think I have notices price breaks for certain items when purchased in higher quantities at times though even with on line purchasing.

Add: they may have request a quote option with on line ordering as well - just never used it.

I get the E-conolight catalog all the time. When you go to order light online from the catalog, half of the lights are out of stock. I wanted their 9000 lumen wall packs from the catalog and they were out of stock when I went to order 15 of them. I found them in stock at 1000bulbs and ordered them. They arrived in 4 days and were very very well packed. Installed them all and did not have any problems.

I have bought some things through Econolight and not really had a problem, however I would like to point out that over too many years I have discovered you get what you pay for. There is a huge difference in the quality of LED drivers. I would be hard pressed to find an Engineer who would spec out Econolight fixtures, so if I were trying to sell a customer on retrofit, I might invite my higher end fixture rep to visit the site and let them explain to the customer why they should consider paying for the higher end fixture.

Does Cree own Econolight?

From their PURCHASE ORDER TERMS AND CONDITIONS"...Supplier will exercise due diligence to comply with E-conolight’s Conflict Minerals Policy located at http://www.cree.com/Support/Conflict-Minerals, which includes a requirement that Supplier ultimately will be able to certify that any Merchandise or deliverables supplied to E-conolight by Supplier are not known to fund armed conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or adjoining country (the “DRC Region”)..."

I think I read they were associated with RAB.

We have had very good success with LED Light Efficient Design for retrofitting HID and HPS mogal base luminaires.
Our electricians install quite a few of the Atlas brand LED wall packs. I found out that Atlas, RAB and others use the same housing from China and put there own guts in them.

They use their own guts, or is it just some different specification of guts are installed in the same factory that is located somewhere in China?;)

I have never heard of any affiliation between RAB and E-conolight. As far as I know they are not connected in anyway.

E-conolight was a division of Ruud Lighting. Cree purchased Ruud Lighting in 2011. Cree has now decided to eliminate Ruud Lighting and only offer direct sales to customers through E-conolight or you can purchase Cree fixtures through an authorized distributor.

You are correct, I said RAB, but somehow had that confused with Ruud. Guess maybe they both start with an R?:)

E-conolight site has some Ruud products starting to show up in searches
