Exterior lighting requirements

Where if at all does it say in the NEC that light fixtures must be installed at all exterior doors? The question I have is, will a light fixture be required at the big garage door on a dwelling? I have a customer that does not want any coach lights on the front of his garage to light up the driveway. I told him that the lights are required but I'm not sure about the door the car passes through. He's okay with coach lights at all of the man doors leading out from the garage.

I see in 210.70 (a) (2) I found my answer. No lights are required

Look at 210.70(A)(2)(b). The coach lights are not required at the garage door.

Please note that it also doesn't say where the luminaires are required to be located, just tells us the area they are supposed to illuminate.

Vehicle doors on a garage are not required to have illumination of their vicinity.
