Have a question in regards to code requirements pertaining to service entry on a house?. We deal primarily in Industrial Electrical pertaining to the building of machinery, this is not our area of expertise. Is it acceptable by code to have the service entry conductors from a meter share the same conduit as the service feeder from the utility company. Due to the spacing of the service entry cable into the house it would be more convenient to have them share the same conduit. I am guessing that there needs to be isolation between the primary and secondary. If someone were to pull the meter there would be an "assumption" that the wire in the conduit would be de-energized when indeed there would still be power from the utility. Can anyone point us to the code section for this?

Any help appreciated...
Thanks,

230.7 Conductors other than service conductors shall not be installed in the same service raceway or service cable.

I really don't understand the layout you have but basically the unfused service conductors can't share a raceway with fused conductors. 230.7 as mentioned.

Your local power company may also have additional restrictions regarding conduit bodies and pull boxes in the service raceway.
