Is it okay to daisy chain a 30 amp 240 volt circuit to multiple boxes? I have a customer that wants to be able to plug in his portable welder in many different locations. I looked through article 210 branch circuits and couldn't find anything that says no. Just thought I'd make sure before I did it.

As long as you have proper overcurrent protection, there's no difference from daisy chaining the 120v 20 amp outlets.

As hard as it is to believe, I cant find anything in the code that will say no. As long as the breaker is a 30 amp its ok.

Because you have multiple receptacles on that circuit, you are now limited to a max of 80% of 30A for a given receptacle (210.21(B)(2)). Could be a problem with a 25A nameplated item. However, I don't know who would ever catch that violation unless it was plugged in at the time of inspection.

If you label them as Welder Use Only, you can even go with a larger breaker than 30A.
