What doesn't require afci protection?

In a dwelling, under 2014 nec, what new wiring to 15 and 20 amp outlets does not require afci protection? I can't think of any and I hope I'm wrong.

WA is still on 2008. We move to 2014 in July. I guess I will have to figure out how to change my signature tag before then. :happyyes:

I was of the understanding that anything that was not GFCI protected was to be AFCI protected.

That was a general rule that usually worked with 2011, but not in all instances. But you can forget that rule with the 2014, and just start to memorize what doesn't require AFCI as the list is not very long. BTW OP was asking about a 2014 application.
