Thanks for the replies guys. I'll just use a cordless bandsaw and cut them off after the poles are set. Customer and general are pretty anal about things and I wasn't sure if it was common or acceptable to just cut them off. The last thing I want is to be told I am buying 8 new pole bases.

i did a building for mazda, and the owner shot arials of the parking lot, and sent a photo
of the lot, with the poles that were rotated so the heads of the lights weren't lined up
perfectly in formation, circled to be "fixed".

tough crowd......

at least i wasn't the one to set the pole bases..... :p
i'll put a straightege on the bolt group, and
aim it at the next pole base, so everything stays square.

One of our guys did that, he was use to installing round top poles with bull horns that you could just rotate after the pole was installed so he never payed attention to how close he lined up the bolts, well this job the poles had side mounted brackets for the arms that held the fixtures and it was a mess to fix.

How do you fix that. I have not seen slotted pole bases.
