I am reserching an AB manual for a VVVF (variable Voltage Variable Frequency) drive and they state that the motor runs at 12% NGP in a specific application being deployed. I think it means a reduced nameplate rating of some kind but do not wish to make that assumption. The term is not defined in the manual and Google gives me some Italian motorcycle stuff. Fun but not what I am looking for.
Anyone know what NGP means? Oh, and be kind, I know how this forum can get when there is blood in the water over something like this ! ;)

Thanks!
Rick

Is it in all caps as you have posted?

I'd call the author of the document or contact whoever you got it from.

A Typo. Nominal Horse Power fits. But now that Nuclear Guinea Pig has entered the conversation, I am becoming obsessed. \

Any Solar Turbine folks want to chime in? It is in thier PIL 149 numerous times and I am looking at Rev 7.

Don't be impressed. I still see specs coming across my desk referencing technologies or fire alarm panels that are 20 years out of date. Once the boiler plate gets in the system, it takes a joint Act of Congress and God to get it changed.

In that context, the NGP is the turbine speed (the gas generator speed). No typo.

PS: The "N" is for speed and the "GP" subscript is for gas power.

PSS: or gas producer.
