Question? I have never had to do this typr of installation. Customer want a whole house back up generator. He has a 200 amp service under ground which enters a junction box. Splits off and feeds two seperate meters. One meter feed 200 amp panel. Its for general loads lights, receptacles, kitchen appl, bathroom etc.The other is a 100 amp panel for geothermal unit, well pump eletricwater tanks, heat pump. He ia getting a reduced rate on the second meter due to his geothermal unit. Question is can I run 2 transfer switches 1-100amp 1-200 off a one generator probably 20kw. Has anyone done this with generac...
thanks

I don't know why you couldn't.
Sounds like they both would have to be service rated unless there is overcurrent and short circuit protection in front of the ATS's.

There is an issue with the neutral. It needs to be switched at one or both of the transfer switches so that it is not a secondary current path through the generator. Maybe somebody else can chime in as I am not too clear on how it needs to be done.

That is one concern that will have to be addressed. However I do not think you will meet 702.4 (B)(2) with a 20 Kw and the load you are describing.

If that's the part about the generator being able to handle the transferred load you are correct, I did not think about that.

Are there two actual services or is the 100 amp meter secondary behind the 200. this is done with vehicle chargers etc. the meter is not a service just a monitor to be calculated.
You can do the two SE transfers, we do it all the time but as staed eariler it may not meet code for load. you would have to load shed quite a bit to mke it right per 702 If you would load shed the geo thermal you may as well just leave it off. they can draw a lot.
