My employer has asked me to help with estimating on a power line project. Some of the work will be overhead and some will be undergorund. I have little to no experience with line work. I have spent my whole career as an inside electrician. Is there any books, information or programs that I can use, that would help me with this estimate? If so where can I find it? Thank you all for your help.

That kind of work, at least in my experience, is a specialized part of the trade. Most ECs that I know of when having that work will sub it out. So If I were you I would find some subs and get some pricing.

+1 on the "sub it out" idea.

at least within the organized labor realm, there is so little overlap between
inside wireman and outside wireman work, that they have their own pay
scales, apprenticeships, and hiring halls. it's another world.

now bidding on the pipe work part in the ground should be pretty straightforward,
and you might want to do that piece of it, but the overhead work? i wouldn't
touch bidding that with a 10' hot stick.

I would probably sub that out, too, and don't forget hauling the spoils.
