We have a 300kva,and 75kva 480-2008-120v transformer with underground primary and secondary pvc feeder conduits entering the front bottum of the transformers in the vents, I was told by an inspector today that can't be done they have to enter the sides only, the only thing i see wrong is they do not have termernal adapters and locknuts on them, these are square -d and manufacture spec show conduit entries in the sides or bottum????

Sounds like you did not come in the bottom toward the front, but rather further back in the vent area. I'll bet if you look at the SqD drawing it will show the conduit entries in an exact area toward the front. If he wants to push the issue it sounds like an expensive problem on a transformer this large.:(

the conduits do enter at the front, the vent run from front to back, theres only like 1'' of solid steel in the front before the vents

It's fine, the inspector is mistaken, show them the Square D info and ask him for a code cite that you have violated.
