what should be the acceptable leakage current in milli amps for a cable with a test voltage of 100volts,with 1.5 meters of length.
how can we conduct hipot test on a single conductor cable.

Is there a way to calculate expected leakage?
I was under the impression that leakage could be expected, but as long as the cable passed, the leakage was acceptable.
1.5 meters seems to be short... You trying an experiment?

You have not provided much information. What kind of cable. Voltage rating?

You probably will not get any leakage if you only apply 100 volts. Why test a cable 1.5 meters?

To test a single conductor cable of short length you can wrap it in tin foil tape or just tin foil. Generally, it is considered to have passed if a hole is not blown through the insulation that causes the test equipment to shut down.
