Have a Masters License from Georgia. Currently studying for KY and TN. Putting alot of time in this and dont really want to have to do it again. Considering testing for another state before all this learning leaks out of my brain. I know ND has alot of oppty. Which other states (preferably Southeast or Southwest) offer the best chance of long term lucrative employment?

If you had taken Al. Master you could have a Lic in GA,Ms,Tn.Nc,Sc,Va, the web sites say La. and Ark. but there some draw backs to these states. Nc. is the best for the buck right now. There is some work. The way I base the trade in a state is to look what Job are on Craigslist for that state.
You can get a Nc. Lic from your Ga.
Good luck

Do you plan to buy the license for what ever states you are eligible to try for and continue to renew them even if you don't do any work there?

I know rules vary from one place to another. I do know that here if you get a license and fail to renew by time it expires you will have to take examination again before you can obtain another license. There is probably other places where this is true also. Reciprocal eligibility can be a little different ballgame. I think some accept your acquiring license elsewhere, but still want an equivelant fee that you would have paid to acquire the license in that particular AHJ area. You do need continuing education that is approved by AHJ in most places before you are eligible for renewal also. Many CEU's are valid in multiple locations, you just need to let the provider know where you need CEU's for and they can tell you if they are certified to provide CEU's for that AHJ, or may see what it takes to become certified.
