hey guys, I have a question about my generator output, I have a 2000 watt Honda gen with a 12,000 BTU ac plugged in, now this ac only pulls 1000 watts while running with comp on. my problem is when the comp kicks on it pulls around 3000 watts only for a second then this of course pulls the voltage too low from the generator and the ac shuts down. question is does anybody make some kind of device that holds the voltage at 120 steadily for a few seconds just so the compressor can receive its power to start the cycle ? maybe some kind of cap sys ? any input would really be appreciated.

I was told by a large generator company that with an a/c you should figure 3 times its load on startup and they are very difficult on generators esp. when the generators are small.
