501.15 (B)(1)

At the end of the reference it says that has to comply with 501.10(A)

Should this be 501.15(A)

Following 501.10(A) you couldn't put a union after a Seal off in Class 1 Div. 2, but you could use a union in a Class 1 Div. 1 (501.15 (A) (1) ) Which is a higher area?

P.S. Sorry if this is addressed elsewhere, tried searching but didn't find anything.

I don't see your point. Allowed fittings are addressed indirectly in the first sentence, "a conduit seal shall
be provided in accordance with 501.15(A)(1)(1)". The second, last sentence references 501.10(A) because you have to use a C1D1 wiring method between seal and enclosure (i.e. it has to be explosionproof for the same reason the enclosure is explosionproof).

Actually if you read it, it says 501.15(A)(1)(1), it does not say 501.15(A)(1), that reference above does not say you can use unions since it only reference a small portion of 501.15(A)(1) not the whole artice.

Actually, that's what I wrote.

However, you are interpretting it wrong IMO. Broadening the reference to 501.15(A)(1) would actually limit you to "Only explosionproof unions, couplings, reducers, elbows, capped elbows, and conduit bodies similar to L, T, and Cross types that are not larger than the trade size of the conduit shall be permitted between the sealing fitting and the explosionproof enclosure."

As written, you can use any wiring method enumerated in 501.10(A)... which includes any associated fitting. So you are not limited to explosionproof fittings of the kind and size stated in 501.15(A)(1). I was in error in my earlier post where I wrote only explosionproof fittings.
