I Beam Above Ceiling

Just a random thought. Can you have a standard height ceiling either gyp or lay-in and have I Beams above it attached to the slab? I thought most of the time it's "black iron" of msome sort but I was randomly looking at structural drawings and it the W**X**(the asteriks being a numbers) and I believe this reepresents I Beams. Just a thought, thanks.

yes you can, it could be all beams. This kinda gos back to your question of layout (design) and reading all the prints. If your men can not get pipe through and you stright lined you got the job but lost your a$$.

What do you mean? Can you run below the beams?

Run under sure if you have room, parking garage you might need to cut the beams, depends on the job. But if you do not have it in your bid where will the money come from?
