Years ago I had a friend give me a stripper that stripped single covered conductors (such as Type XHHW). It was a single tool, that had a set screw that adjusted the internal blade. Does anyone no where I can get one. This tool was great!!! You can strip off a perfect amount in less then three seconds. All you had to do was rotate it around the otter cover of the conductor, and Bam…done. Great Tool!! I see one site that sells a kit, but this is not what I’m looking for.

I guess I should add. It was tubular in shape-about 6 inches long-and the conductor could be inserted through the top or bottom hole.

Seem to sell from 50-70 dollars. I got a better look at in on Greenlees PDF file. The one I had was made of metal, and would strip at least 1/2-1? off. The entire 1/2-1? jacket would fall off as you rotate the tool.

This sounds like what I used 35 years ago in NY. It is about the size of a small tubing cutter and peels the large size wires. We had dies for each size.

These 2 pages have many types of wire strippers.
