seeing as this day is all about time, that is what my new years resolution
is about, time.......

and the management of it....

my wife's corporation has an inservice thing that they inflict on their
upper management, and one aspect of it is time management, so
she was doing the web class, and the first thing that they are talking
about is a time log, so you can see where you are investing/wasting
your time.... so after watching it, i went off looking for an app for
time management.... how many of those could there be on the app
store? 171? whatever... so i went looking, and found this one:

Eternity Time Log

there is a free crippled one so you can see how it works, and the
real deal is all of $9.99

takes a few minutes to set up activities, then you are ready to rock.

hit an activity, hit start, and it logs... you can set tags so you can
track specific jobs, and it sorts, reports, and does backups to
either email, a pc, or another copy of eternety on another device,
like your ipad.

five stars from me on this one.... i was wondering if there was one
that took advantage of the voice recognition on the iphone 4s, and
this seems to be a better solution than than voice prompts.. it's fast,
it works, and it's flexible... the only thing that would be better if you
could bluetooth pair a pad and phone, or have apple get their poo
together and offer something like this that syncs on icloud....

happy new year, y'all....

Now, since they have made computers the size of a thumb drive, why not just put the app into one of those and imbed it directly into the employee's brain? That would increase productivity by not having to spend time recording events, it would just be automatic. It would also allow for two way communication like no other as the processor would be connected directly to the part of the brain the processes sound.

:p

Happy New Year to you as well!!

I'm not a big guy on tracking time, things take what they take.

Here at work we do time logs and about an hour of our day is spent logging in what we did for the other 8 hours of the day.

We do that here too, it's called filling out your time card. If I don't do it, I don't get paid! It's really a pretty good motivator!!

yup... and i hate doing stuff like this... that is why the app... it works pretty well...
never mind pretty well, this thing rocks.... i've got a bunch of irons in the fire at
the moment for myself, and others, and whatever i'm doing, it takes one second
to log it, and when i get to the next thing, i log it, and at the end of the day,
i have a list.... and i didn't have to make it. you can make tags for each customer,
or job, or whatever, so that you can identify which job the thing you are doing
is for.

if you go by inspection ticket numbers, you can make a tag for each number,
and then it's click, bang, and at the end of the day, the program can email you
a list of everything on it..... repeat inspections are tallied, and you can put a note
on what items were bought off that day...

what can i say? i like the thing....
