Are all ECO lamps considered non-hazardous waste according to federal guidelines and can they be disposed of along with other waste or must they be recycled?

Are we talking about CFL's LED's?

I know your allowed to toss only so many CFL's as they no longer contain as much mercury as some of the older lamps but after you reach this limit and or have allot then your suppose to send them in as hazardous waste, depends upon who is collecting your garbage, I had a flier from our waste company that showed the guide line required by EPA, but off hand I can't remember how many lamps you can toss before have to make special arrangements for hazardous waste pickup, I do remember a customer was upset that their waste collector rejected to empty their dumpster once when we through to many lamps in it, because of this, but that was T-12 4' linear lamps which did have much more Mercury in them.
