I know some of you guys see old stuff like this all the time but I do not. Can anyone tell me how old the devices in the pics below might be? The switch is an Emerson and it looks like 3336 is molded into the ceramic and had what appeared to be a brass wall plate that I seem to have misplaced. The HO says she remembers the switch being in the house in the late forties. A GIS produced no results.

The light socket does not look old to me but I'm wondering how old it has to be to have exposed terminals. I took six (four from areas where HO's grandchildren often play) of those out of a house and didn't see anything that looked like maybe there was a missing cover.

I was thinking 40's -ish. These did have plates. I have worked in some older homes with switches that did not have plates. I wish I have pictures but at the time, I saw no value in taking pictures of stuff like that or keeping old parts. At the time, they were just junk.

I remember doing a few remodels many years ago that had theses switches. The plates were made of thick solid brass. Pretty amazing compared to this world of nothing but plastic.

I have seen a few of the light sockets & lots of similar switches. I'm sure the switches date to the 20's. I've seen lots of them still working OK.
