Breaker Information - Only under the cover

Whining and moaning...
Why is breaker nameplate only ever seem to be under the steel cover on molded case breakers. grrrrrr....

You must be referring to residential 1P breakers? Most industrial breakers for panelboards and multi-pole breakers for load centers have a shoulder on the breaker front that extends through the sheet metal and shows all the applicable breaker information. I think 1P breakers are too small to fit anything.

Most industrial breakers for panelboards and multi-pole breakers for load centers have a shoulder on the breaker front that extends through the sheet metal and shows all the applicable breaker information.
The information may be on the breaker, but it is not visible without removing the equipment cover over the breaker. Typically the only part sticking through the sheet metal is the 'handle' and its surrounding escutcheon.

Hmmm. ........... how to fix this ...

A plastic 'flag' made of this material that extends beyond the equipment cover. This flag to be printed with manufacture's model number.

Instruct installers to label the breaker cover during install.

...more whining..........
