Yes, they are allow to pull permits. The main problem we have is the Registrar of Contractors that doesn't do their job and combined with the state given permits to anyone.

only a contractor or a home owner can pull a permit and you do not have to be license for home owner permit, but liability falls on the home owner, then other then that they work under the handyman law upto $1500 (I think) no utility work

Jw/Apprentice ratio? Whats that. Here you are lucky if you even know a journeyman much less see one on a job. Since it isnt enforced most people dont bother taking the test. Of course Im not most people I did get my jw license.

I see ads for jw at lest 1 yr in trade:mad:
It would be nice if thay had state licening.. but they dont.
I would like to see a link for some where I could get a state jw card here in az.

To all Arizona electric contractors, please we need to create a front to fight all this. The health of our business depend on that, we need to protect our business and of course the modus vivendus of our family. The Registrar of Contractor of Arizona is a joke. William Mundel, his director is .... a JOKE.... He's more interested in taking his picture for personal gains and use ROC as a springboard for personal gains as well.

As example: today, to bet an unlicensed contractor, I need to lower a plumbing job down $1,200 and get cash for it... Is this helping the economy and us? ... of course not!!! ( I have Electric, Plumbing, HVAC and contrator licenses).

If we unite and go to ROC and refuse and/or drop all our licenses ... they will get the message.

Any taker?

There are no j-men in Az. just people who claim to be one. This is why they inspect to

the' prints' , there are no official electricians in Az., the owner of the co. has a contractors

licence- thats it. Half the trucks on the road have every trade written on the side, so I

guess we must be real smart ! Right.

first pick is of quality work by the HVAC contractor
second pick is a electrical j-box above a hard lid
third pick is of my detector buried above a hard lid that I cut a hole for access to it, to lower it into new ceiling.

I had to fight to keep access panel there, GC wanted to re-install the rock

Whats the code article for questions 2 and 3? (I know it)
